Landon Katz, VMD, Surgery
Dr. Landon Katz is a first year surgery resident at Animal Specialty Center. After his first year in college at the University of Maryland, Landon decided to pursue a path towards becoming a veterinarian. He began shadowing at local veterinary clinics and, after seeing his first surgery, a fracture repair, he knew that was the path he would follow. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, College of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining his VMD in 2016 followed by a rotating internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary partners in New York and a specialty surgical internship at Veterinary Specialty Center in Illinois. During his surgical internship he was part of their shelter animal surgical service which provides low or no cost elective surgery to pets which are up for adoption.
Dr. Katz enjoys all aspects of surgery because each case provides a unique challenge to solve. The most rewarding experience is when the pet returns to a normal, healthy life with his or her family. Outside of work he enjoys skiing, biking, football and cooking.
