Dr. Simon Kornberg was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. His father is a pediatric neurologist and his mother is a psychotherapist and they have always been crazy about animals. Starting in 2011, Dr. Kornberg undertook a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists which he finished in 2012. Dr. Kornberg then went on to work at the University of Melbourne emergency clinic in Geelong, Australia.

Dr. Kornberg received his advanced training in a 3 year Neurology and Neurosurgery residency at Mississippi State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, which he completed in July 2015. Immediately following his residency, he successfully passed the ACVIM Neurology specialty examination and was awarded diplomate status. After nearly 3 years practising in Miami, Dr. Kornberg joined our team here at the Animal Specialty Center. While enjoying all facets of the specialty Dr Kornberg has a keen interest in spinal surgery, meningitis and encephalitis, minimally invasive brain surgery, treatment of seizures and ixodes tick paralysis. Dr Kornberg also has extensive lecturing experience, and has taught both junior and senior veterinary students in both the classroom and clinic.
