Our board-certified internists and residency-trained doctors have advanced training that includes a four-year college degree, four years of veterinary college, a one-year internship in veterinary internal medicine, and a three-year residency program. In most cases, our internists see pets on a referral basis either at the suggestion of their primary care veterinarians, or through a discussion with the veterinarian as initiated at the client’s request.
Our services start with a general consultation that can include one or more areas in the wide spectrum of internal medicine including hematology, hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, rheumatology, endocrinology, gerontology. The combination of two or more of these areas usually occurs in many of our patients. Your internist then works closely with other members of your pet’s care team that can include veterinary surgeons, neurologists, oncologists, dentists and cardiologists to ensure the best care for your pet.
