The Animal Specialty Center surgical department is comprised of board-certified small animal surgeons and a dedicated team of skilled veterinary technicians and assistants. Our specialists work as a team along with you primary care veterinarian to assure your pet receives the very best surgical care available.

Our surgeons are board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Members of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons undergo a one-year rotating internship and a three-year surgical residency. After completing the full training program, the candidate is required to pass a rigorous three-day exam. Only upon successful completion of these requirements can veterinarians become a veterinary surgical specialist.

Animal Specialty Center surgeons perform many technically challenging surgeries, both soft tissue and orthopedic in nature. Surgeries commonly performed include, but are not limited to the following:

Minimally Invasive Surgery

The surgical team at Animal Specialty Center performs minimally invasive surgery for many surgical procedures. Minimally invasive surgical procedures allow patients to experience less post-operative pain compared to traditional surgery, typically with a reduction in hospitalization and recovery times. During these unique procedures, surgeons utilize specialized equipment to operate on your pet, making small incisions, using cameras and instruments to perform the surgery.

Soft Tissue and Oncological Surgery

Our surgeons are able to handle any type of surgery your pet may need when your pet needs soft tissue surgery. Our expert team will discuss the best surgical option for your pet so that your pet is back to good health as soon as possible.
